Pakistan People's Party (PPP) General Secretary Jahangir Badr said Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) have struck reconciliation over Local Bodies elections in Sindh. He was talking to media after hearing of reference cases at Lahore Accountability Court regarding illegal assets and unauthorised recruitment.
He said the same reconciliatory atmosphere could not be created with Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) in Punjab. Badar said the PPP would support PML-N candidate in the by-elections to enhance the reconciliatory process, adding PML-N is sure to win NA-123 seat.
According to him, Hafiz Salman Butt's claim is misplaced, as the PPP is not in alliance with Jamaat-i-Islami. Reacting to Punjab Governor Salman Taseer's statement against Mian Nawaz Sharif, Jahangir stressed he respects the leaders of all political parties, as this would lead democracy to be strengthened.
People's Party Secretary General Jahangir Badar has said the PPP has withdrawn its candidate from recent bye-election due to an understanding with Muslim League (Nawaz). Badar was talking to media while appearing before Accountability Court on Saturday in the hearing of the illegal assets case.
He said PPP and coalition partners in Sindh were agreed over appointment of administrators and local bodies' elections, but the understanding could not be achieved in Punjab. He said the party if felt the need it would workout to reach an understanding with coalition partners in Punjab over the local bodies elections.
