Federal Minister for Interior, Rehman Malik has said that terrorists are being supported by India via Afghanistan and Pakistan is having ample proof of foreign forces' involvement in the on-going terrorism.
"The law enforcement agencies have seized arms and ammunition smuggled through Afghanistan besides, having other solid evidences regarding Indian involvement in the terrorist activities," Malik said while talking to media after attending Supreme Court hearing on Monday.
Malik strongly condemned the Lahore suicide blast, saying that India should act as a peace loving country by resuming the long-suspended talks with Pakistan. He said that the government will present the evidences pertaining to Indian involvement. "India should behave properly if it wants peace in the region. We will inform India about our reservations whenever, talks resumed between the two countries," he maintained.
He said that the issue of using Afghan soil against Pakistan was raised with Afghanistan government on diplomatic level and Kabul was asked to stop cross border infiltration and not allow any other country to use its soil against Pakistan. Rehman Malik said that the suicide attack at FIU building in Lahore was carried out by the remnants of Taliban, who are on the run due to successful military operation. "These terrorist strikes would not dampen our spirits and we will chase them until their complete elimination," he added.
Malik revealed to media that there were reports about more terrorist attacks in different parts of the country that was the reason all law enforcement agencies were issued directions to remain alert to thwart any untoward incident. "We have responded quickly on the intelligence agencies' reports and all institutions were put on high alert," he said. The Minister said that the defunct Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was involved in all terror attacks carried out in different parts of the country.
"They are mercenaries and contract killers from Swat and Fata, who are trying to destabilise Pakistan on the directions of anti-state elements and foreign masters," he added. He said that during the investigation, majority of the detained terrorist have shown their association with TTP. They have escaped from Swat and Waziristan during the military operation and have taken refuge in big cities, he said.
He said that the terrorists were resorting to guerrilla tactics to meet their nefarious designs. "Such elements are not Muslims as they are enemies of humanity," he opined. Responding to a question regarding the court hearing in Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) corruption case, Interior Minister said the learned court has endorsed his plea and exempted him from appearing in the court proceedings.
