Clarification

This is with reference to a news item appeared in Business Recorder on 8th March, 2010 "PPIB refuses to follow Water, Power Secretary's directives" wherein factual position of the matter was misreported. PPIB would like to clarify that audit of PPIB has been postponed on the revised instructions of Ministry Water and Power to hold a meeting with Auditor General of Pakistan in order to determine whether the audit of PPIB falls in the purview of the Auditor General's Office.
Our staff reporter adds: PPIB has admitted in its clarification that it did not implement the earlier instructions of Secretary Water and Power, Shahid Rafi with regard to the audit of accounts.
