The Special Accountability Court-II Rawalpindi on Wednesday rejected the acquittal plea, filed by co-accused in ARY Gold reference Salman Farooqui, while observing that the acquittal was impossible without recording the statements of the prosecution witnesses.
Accountability Court-II Judge Wamiq Javed observed that judgement on the acquittal petition of Salman Farooqui can not be proceeded further and summoned the prosecution witnesses for submitting their statements on March 22. Earlier the Special Accountability Court-II resumed the hearing of the ARY Gold Reference. Salman Farooqui was also present in the court. After hearing the arguments of the lawyer of the co-accused and going through the record of the case, the learned judge rejected the acquittal petition of Salman Farooqui.
