The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan in collaboration with Terra Biz conducted the CFO Conference 2010, on Thursday at a local hotel. Dr Ishrat Hussain, Dean and Director, IBA and former Governor, SBP was the chief guest of the event.
The conference was attended by Chief Financial Officers from companies across the country, to explore and devise strategies to create a faster, leaner and agile finance function, using insight to lead economic growth, establish alliance and shape future opportunities. Guest speakers included seasoned professionals like Yacoob Sattar, Executive Director Finance and IT, PSO, Ruhail Mohammad, VP and CFO, Engro Corporation, and Gerhard Wilcke, CFO, Siemens.
A first of its kind, the conference was supported by many companies. Mir Muhammad Ali, CEO of UBL Fund Managers, one of the primary supporters of the conference, commented on this initiative taken by ICAP saying that, "the platform that this conference has provided to CFO's of our country is commendable." The theme of the conference was 'Rising CFO'.
He also added that "CFOs play a vital role strategizing and implementing future courses of companies, communities and the country, and by highlighting issues and discussing strategies to overcome them is a collective step to achieving success."-PR
