A delegation from Pakistan is attending the largest tourism fair in Berlin. An announcement here on Sunday said that the Pakistan delegation includes of Federal Tourism Minister, Maulana Atta ur Rehman, Sindh Tourism, Ms. Shazia Marri and Provincial Secretary Tourism, Ms. Rabia Javeri Agha.
It said that the event is ideal to showcase a lot of potential for tourism in Pakistan. Shazia Marri said on the occasion that the tourism was the largest in the world. However, she regretted that Pakistan is unable to gain its rightful share in this very sector.
She also referred to what was termed as the negative perception of Pakistan and asked the media to counter such an impression and portray the reality as its exists in this regard. Shazia Marri also pointed out that it was after many years that Sindh was represented at the Berlin Tourism Fair. She said that it would be the endeavour of the Sindh Tourism Department to continue its presence on the international tourism arena. The minister also pointed out that Sindh is a land of the Sufis who were famous for their tolerance and love for the fellow human beings. She also referred to the steps of the present government to promote soft image of Pakistan internationally.
Ms. Shazia Marri further stated that President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani were committed to ensure that Pakistan gets its rightful place in the comity of nations.
