An artwork exhibition featuring paintings on the preservation of all types of heritage by eminent artist Mussarrat Nahid Imam will conclude on Monday (today). The display of 24 art pieces is the 16th solo show by painter and writer Mussarrat Imam at Khas Art Gallery paying tribute to the `Creative Sensibilities of the Women in Pakistan'
Imam is a painter, writer, organiser and consultant who worked for the promotion of art and preservation of heritage throughout her career and got many national and international awards.
According to her, `Art is an intuition spirit into senses. Therefore, whatever a creative mind thinks becomes sensual feeling. Art must be objective, meaningful and intuitive, help releasing of creative intellect, emotional vibrancy and spiritual enlightenment." With these concepts and conviction, she entered the artistic arena and embraced it as her professional career. Her imageries began to reflect her individual symbology and demonstrate her experience as an active go between artists and the audience.
She makes no regional distinctions and moves with ease across civilisations and continents: Gandhara, Indus Valley, Egyptian settlements, rock engravings, Islamic manuscripts and Mughal era, all with equal competence and eloquence.
Instead of creating a divide in her work, the vastness of perspective helps her to pick out what knits these visual resources together in her mind's eye.
