The government of Japan has decided to extend a financial support of 95,098 dollar (approx. Rs 7.8 million) to M H Sufi Foundation, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), under the "Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects" for the Construction of a Primary School in Hafizabad, Punjab.
The agreement for the project was signed on Wednesday at the Japanese Ambassador's residence in Islamabad between H E Chihiro Atsumi, the Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan and Parvez Hussain Sufi, Chairman & CEO of M H Sufi Foundation.
The grant will be utilised for the construction of a new primary school, which comprises 21 classrooms, 24 toilets, a principal's office, a staff room, and a library, etc in the village of Saroopwala, Hafizabad. In this school, students will be given high quality education in the English medium by well-trained teachers. Furthermore, they will be able to obtain reduction of the school fee from the NGO, according to their family's income size.
So far, the students around this underprivileged locality were deprived of quality education, because it was beyond their reach to afford the expensive school in the nearby city. Through this project, approximately 600 children around this area will be equally provided with the opportunity to receive education of higher standard in conducive-learning environment of the new school.-PR
