Ministry of Interior has issued directives to different public departments to arrange activities to mark Pakistan Day on March 23 both at federal and provincial level. The government has announced general public holiday on the day, said a notification issued here on Thursday.
The preparations include firing of 31-guns salute at sunrise in Rawalpindi and 21-guns salute in all the provincial capitals. Flag hoisting ceremonies will be arranged on principal public and private buildings across the country and at all Pakistan Missions abroad. Pakistan Day messages to the nation by the President and the Prime Minister will be issued through print and electronic media.
The thanks-giving prayers will be offered besides arranging rallies of Girl Guides, Boys Scouts and Students. The exhibition of relevant documentary films will be held for school children and the public at large in all cinema houses. The well-known workers of Tehrik-i-Pakistan will be invited to participate in Radio and TV programmes.
