Jamaat-e-Islami has supported proposals of the Supreme Court Bar Association with regard to appointment of Judges of the superior courts without interference of the executive and the Parliament.
A delegation of the Supreme Court Bar Association led by its President Qazi Anwar met with the Secretary General Liaquat Baloch and other leaders of jamaat-e-Islami, known for its organised street power, and sought its support to ensure independence of judiciary and its separation from the executive and the parliament.
According to the JI sources, the JI leadership assured the SBCA of its full support for the appointment of judges as laid down in the 1973 Constitution and oppose any interference by the executive in the appointment procedure.
