Commerce Minister Makhdoom Amin Fahim has assured that he would meet the key players of commerce and industry for finalising the 2010-2011 Trade Policy and Pakistan Trade Act soon to diversify and increase exports.
He was talking to veteran leader of Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and Vice President, SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Iftikhar Malik here on Sunday.
Malik briefed the Minister about the problems of the industrialists and trading community and his recent meetings with other chambers of commerce and industry in connection with stimulation of the industry in the country.
Fahim said that the elected government was making all out efforts for reviving trade and industry without which the government cannot solve the socio-economic problems of the nation. He said he would meet the key trade and industry players to have their input for finalising the trade policy.
Regarding the power crisis in the country, the minister indicated that 1,500 MW additional electricity might be added to the national grid by 15th April which would help mitigate sufferings of the people and losses of industrial and agriculture sectors.
