Yamaha, a leading motorbikes manufacturer, is keen to invest around ¥15billion in Pakistan. In a statement issued here on Monday, Yamaha is interested to make foreign direct investment of ¥15 billion in motorcycles industry. For the purpose, a high level Japanese delegation is scheduled to visit Pakistan in late March.
A delegation comprising Jto Yasushi, General Manager, Yamaha and Nick Obmura, Director is going to start three-day official tour from March 24. The representatives of Yamaha would call on chairman Board of Investment Saleem H. Mandiwalla and Hazar Khan Bijarani, minister for industries and production, a press release said.
It further said the Yamaha would commence the project to produce motorcycles of advance functions, high quality and sophisticated design (125-150 CC), which are presently being imported from Europe and Latin America, in 2010. The initial production capacity would be 2200 motorcycles, which would gradually be extended to 756,000 at reasonable price. The project would create some 81100 new employment's, release added.-PR
