Folk artists, traditional drummers, art and craft display and a paintings exhibition has set the stage of Lok Virsa to add colours into the celebration of Pakistan Day here on March 23.
The National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage will mark the day in a befitting manner including the programmes like a live folk musical concert featuring outstanding folk artist Qurban Niazi (brother of legendary folk singer late Tufail Niazi) and leading vocalist Rukhsana Murtaza at open air theatre.
A group of traditional drummers (dholis) and Shehnai players will entertain the visitors throughout the day from 10am to 8pm at intervals, Khalid Javaid, Executive Director Lok Virsa told APP.
The Heritage Museum will remain open for public throughout the day while a special 50 percent rebate on museum entry ticket for visitors will be granted to mark the day. An exotic craft bazaar featuring traditional items will be setup at Lok Virsa premises showcasing the paintings, metal work, gemstone and jewellery, wax printing, shawls, garments and a variety of other knick-knacks.
