The Fisheries department has put a ban on trout fishing for a period of two years in Kaghan Valley, Swat, Upper Dir and other parts of the province. According to a notification issued by the Chief Minister NWFP, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, the step has been taken to ensure the production of the precious species of fish in cold waters of the province and lawful action would be taken against anyone found breaching the ban.
The step is hailed by various sections of the society, as it will have long lasting affect on the production of the fish species.
