Federal Advisor on Textile, Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig thanked Governor SBP Saleem Raza for the issuance of Circular No 03 & 04 of 2010 for the payment of 2.5 percent export refinance mark-up to the exporters of textile industry against Ministry of Textile Industry notification dated September 1. 2009 for the period 01-09-09 to 28-02-10 as well as payment of mark-up support to textile sector on their long-term loans for the period 01-09-09 to 28-02-10 as per Ministry of Textile incentives.
Dr Baig met Governor SBP and his team on 1st February 2010 at State Bank and had taken up the issue of payment of mark-up. Governor SBP had assured that the payment would be made for the 6 month period ending on 28th February 2010. Dr Baig had advised textile associations to ask their members to submit their claims with their respective banks before 23rd April 2010, after which no claim for this period will be entertained.-PR
