AJK Information, IT and Hydro Electric Board Minister, Sardar Farooq Haider has on Friday demanded Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) to pay compensation for the loss of public property during the violent demonstrations against load shedding in Mirpur. Talking to various delegations here, he said protest was the democratic right of the masses and it was the duty of the government to protect their properties and rational assets.
He said AJK was supplying power to Pakistan but the people of the state were facing worst load shedding. He appealed the government of Pakistan to review its policy of load shedding for AJK. Farooq Haider further stated, if the constitution of 1973 was restored, the interim act of 1974 should also be amended in accordance with wishes of the people.
