Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan has said that the present Punjab government has introduced the revolutionary education policies for imparting the quality education to young generation and talented students are being encouraged besides providing the ample opportunities of higher education on government expenses.
He stated this while addressing to the function of convocation at government college for women Madina Town as chief guest. MPA Kh Islam, Principal Abida Fiaz, EDO Education Sohaib Imran, Deputy Director Colleges Saifur Rehman, Principals of other colleges, faculty members and students were also present on the occasion.
The minister said that the key role of women in the development and progress of the society could not be ignored, as the future of the generation is in their hands.
He said that the education of women is a significant part of policies of Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and ample opportunities of education are being provided to the female students at their doorsteps.
The minister said that now poor talented students would not be deprived of acquiring education due to financial constraints. He informed that Danish Schools are being established in the province for imparting the quality education to the poor students and all expenses, including boarding lodging would be born by the provincial government.
He further informed that centres of excellence are also being established in every district and their quality of education would be at par with those of expensive education institutions.
He told that endowment fund was set up with a seed money of Rs 2 billion and Rs 2 billion would be added in this fund in every year, which would be spent for the higher education of talented deserving students.
The minister congratulated the position holder students and appreciated the administrative and educational performance of principal of the college. MPA Kh Islam said that the education of the women was vital for strengthening the base of the society, for this purpose the present Punjab government was providing extra ordinary facilities to the female students.
He greeted the position holder students and advised the other students to work hard for bagging the top positions. Principal Abida Fiaz in her welcome address highlighted the educational performance of the college. The minister and MPA gave away award medals and certificates among the position holder students.
Earlier, the law minister inaugurated newly construction buildings of BSc block and library, which are completed at a cost of Rs 55.2 million.
