Sindh Minister for Industries and Commerce, Rauf Siddiqi has directed that allotment of all those government and private organisations against whom arrears of Site Ltd are outstanding be cancelled.
He issued these orders while speaking as chief guest at the inauguration of Site Super Highway Association. A large number of industrialists and traders were also present on the occasion.
The minister asked Site Ltd to do away with all the facilities being provided to the defaulting organisations and serve them with notices. He specially directed that allotment of land of Sindh Workers Welfare Board be revoked on account of heavy dues against them as the board is not taking any step for clearance of dues.
Rauf Siddiqi noted that despite the orders of Chief Justice High Court of Sindh, the project of affluent plant at Kotri is in stalemate from Planning and Development and Finance Department and they are a major blockade in the way of its implementation.
He directed that the factories where there is a need for affluent plants, the same should be immediately installed as in their absence, problems of unhygienic conditions are arising.
He made it clear that no industrialist or businessman in any industrial estate will pay "bhatta" and immediate report should be lodged against anyone making such a demand from them no mater how influential they may be. He directed that hut restaurants be immediately removed from around Site Ltd and restaurants be opened in factories.
Regarding the security wall, he once again advised the industrialists that each of them should deposit Rs one lac with Site Ltd so that the proposed security wall is constructed around the factories for protection against criminal elements.
Rauf Siddiqi said that no provincial advisor can hold a meeting regarding industries and commerce and should anyone holds such a meeting without information, the departmental action will be taken.
