Federal Minister for Youth Affairs Shahid Hussain Bhutto has said that the placement under National Internship Programme (NIP) 2009-10 has crossed 50,000 target whereas more interns placement is also expected in the near future. Talking to newsmen here on Wednesday, he said the list of successful internees had been placed on the official website of the ministry www.moya.gov.pk.
He said letters had been issued to the remaining 6,000 interns of NIP third batch by the Ministry. The minister said candidates who had been placed under batch three must open their bank accounts and fulfil all other formalities as mentioned on the website, to avoid any delay in provision of their stipend.
"Those who have yet not received their placement letters will get it soon through their relevant district government office as ministry has already sent their names to the concerned district offices," he said. He said that for further information or any query internees might also contact Ministry's toll free number 0800-96884 and 0800-33330.
Bhutto said that under NIP who applied in 2009 programme, around 29,000 interns were issued placement letters all over the country including Malakand package interns. He further said that candidates who were still waiting for their placement should not lose their hope.
"Their applications are in the process of verification," he added. He said that as soon as the verification process was completed they would be placed in relevant departments and their first preferred city. The minister said the government was committed to over come unemployment in the country.
