Federal Minister for Science and Technology Muhammad Azam Khan Swati said here on Wednesday China assured to help implementation of various projects of his ministry. The Federal Minister while talking to APP said the assurance was given to him during a meeting with Chinese Vice Minister for Science and Technology Chao Jholin here Wednesday.
The Federal Minister was here as part of JUI delegation led by its Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman visiting China at the invitation of ruling Communist Party of China (CPC). "I identified four different projects and it was agreed that instead of holding negotiations on these projects there is immediate need for their implementation", he added.
Swati said on back home, he would send working papers of these projects to China, after which, they would examine, whether these should be implemented through government-to-government or private partnership or funds to be generated for these schemes.
The four projects, Swati said were solid waste management; installation of solar water heaters, that would help to ease pressure on present energy crisis; manufacturing of solar panels in Pakistan Council for Renewable Energy Technology (PCRET) in collaboration with China and Construction of storages for preservation of all kind of fruits, vegetables and other products being grown along the silk rout.
He said implementation of these projects would significantly help to demonstrate Pakistan-China strong friendship to rural population as well. He further said that the next joint committee meeting of both ministries will be held in China that will not only exchange views on implementation of these four projects, but would also discuss other schemes. The minister along with other members of the delegation later left for Shanghai on the second leg of their visit. The JUI delegation will also visit Urumqi before leaving for home on April 11.
