Major-General Naushad Kayani has been appointed as Director General of Military Intelligence (MI) while Major General Muhammad Asif, current head of the Military Intelligence has been posted as General Officer Commanding (GOC), Lahore.
According to sources, Major-General Kayani hails from the Infantry side of the Army. He was promoted to the post of Major-General in March. Sources also said that another major shuffle in the Army is on the cards as recently promoted Major-Generals and Lieutenant Generals will be finding new assignments in the force. Corps Commander Peshawar Lieutenant General Masood Aslam will retire on Saturday and Lieutenant General Asif Yaseen, who was recently promoted to the slot of three stars General, will take over the command of the Peshawar Corps.
