Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, taking serious notice, has directed the city police to nab the miscreants involved in the torture of a Punjab University teacher within 24 hours failing which strict action will be taken.
Official sources told APP here Sunday that CM while chairing a meeting held to review the situation in PU after the torture of Chairman Discipline Committee Professor Iftikhar Hussain Baloch by JI activists on Saturday expressed displeasure and directed the SSP (Operation) Ch Shafique Ahmad Gujjar to round up the goons nominated in the FIR. The CM warned that no leniency should be demonstrated in future to maintain peaceful, congenial and academic environment at campuses in the city.
