The Sindh Minister for Fisheries, Zahid Ali Bhurgir has said that 18th amendment has ensured constitutional protection to the democracy and now no one can dare to harm the democracy in the country. He observed this while addressing an inaugural ceremony of a drainage scheme launched in Aliabad UC-16 of Hyderabad, on Sunday.
Addressing the ceremony, Bhurgri said that 18th amendment was also part of agenda of Charter of Democracy (COD) signed by two big political parties for strengthening of institutions.
By taking this decision PPP has proved it that it considers national interest as supreme, instead of personal interest. He said that in addition to the historical decision of 18th amendment, NFC Award, Aghaz-e-Hukook for people of Balochistan, scrapping controversial Kalabagh dam were the great achievements of the present PPP-led government. Referring the demands raised by local people, Bhurgri said that PC-1 for the water supply in Aliabad has been completed. He also announced other projects for supply of gas and construction of girls' school in Aliabad. The Sindh minister was accompanied by Special Assistant to CM Parwaiz Ansari, Senior Vice President PPP Amanullah Siyal, Deputy General Secretary PPP Roshan Solangi and others.
