Gas power generator: SNGPL restrained from disconnecting gas supply

The Lahore High Court (LHC) here on Tuesday restrained Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) from cutting off domestic gas supply connection of petitioner Mubarika Shams for using gas power generator and sought reply from the respondent company till May 10.
Petitioner had received a disconnection notice from SNGPL for using gas power generator in her house. Her counsel submitted that the SNGPL imposed a ban on the use of gas generators whether domestic or commercial. He pleaded that use of gas generator was neither in the violation of gas supply contract with the respondent company nor disallow under any other law. Counsel prayed to the court to restrain the respondent company from disconnecting the gas supply to the petitioner and declare the impugned notice as null and void.
