Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), Muhammad Pervez Rathore has said that, keeping in view of existing situation, a well-co-ordinated strategy has been adopted to combat dangers arising due to terrorism, which has helped law-enforcing agencies in unearthing anti-social and anti-state elements.
CCPO said that an integrated and comprehensive strategy has also been evolved to curb crimes and professional training is being imparted to Lahore Police personnel to improve their capacity building prowess. He said that Lahore police is taking full advantage of latest technology for the prevention of crime that has yielded positive results, particularly in kidnapping for ransom cases.
While talking to a delegation of under training ASPs of 36th Common he said that special attention is being paid to the provision of information of new techniques of investigation to the serving personnel and newly-recruited ASIs in the training courses.
CCPO said that eradication of crime and protection of life and property of people is the top of Lahore Police agenda and all available resources are being effectively utilised in this regard.
CCPO said due to comprehensive strategy and effective patrolling, a marked downward crime trend has been witnessed in the city, despite free registration of cases. He said Lahore police has been equipped with latest and sophisticated technology, including stolen-vehicles management software, mobile forensic labs, criminal's sketch software, criminal index cards software and Nadra network.
CCPO informed that Lahore police have also evolved an effective plan for the prevention of street crimes and Mohafiz Force, equipped with latest equipment and training, has been established for this purpose and posted around the important business centres, markets and other busy areas.
Muhammad Pervez Rathore said that the traffic system in provincial metropolis has also been streamlined. During the meeting, senior police officers briefed the participants about performance of Lahore police, historical evolution, organisational structure, crime analysis, steps taken to combat crime and future plans.
