IDPs asked to get cards, financial assistance at the earliest

Director General Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) NWFP/ FATA, Dr Ikram Ghani has asked internally displaced persons of Malakand and Mohmand Agency to contact the centres, established at their doorsteps to get their cards and financial assistance at earliest.
He said that these centres were established to ensure financial assistance to militancy hit people in their respective areas under emergency relief package. Talking to APP here on Wednesday, Ikram Ghani said that three centres were set-up in Swat and one each in Buner, Malakand, Taimargara and Charsadda since January and so far 20,000 cards have been distributed among IDPs.
He said that Rs 450 million have been distributed among the displaced persons through these centres adding that the purpose of setting up of these centres was to ensure provision of financial assistance to the affectees at their doorsteps.
Ikram Ghani said that the number of displaced persons has decreased significantly and as such the number of these centres would also be cut down. He said that the affectees who have still not received their cards should contact the centres at the earliest so that they do not face any difficulty in future.
