Arshad Warsi believes Salman Khan’s ‘Bigg Boss’ is downmarket
Salman Khan’s controversial TV show ‘Bigg Boss’ was recently visited by the cast of the upcoming movie ‘Golmaal Again’ but one prominent member of the film Arshad Warsi opted out from coming on the show and the reason behind his absence is appalling indeed.
Reality TV show ‘Bigg Boss’ is in its 11th season but before Salman took the show in his hands, few other Bollywood celebrities gave it a shot including Amitabh Bachchan, Shilpa Shetty, Sanjay Dutt as well as Arshad Warsi who was the first one to host the show.
However the ex show host is now condemning and disapproving the controversial show calling it down market. Arshad revealed the real reason why he marked his absence from the promotional tour to Salman Khan’s show whilst talking to Mid-day saying: “The (Bigg Boss) show is down market, people on the show, I hear, are tacky.” He elaborated, "I haven't seen this season, but I've heard about it. The channel is attempting to boost the ratings by showcasing the things that sell. And thus, morality is taking a backseat."
Explaining the difference in the show at the time he was hosting to what it is now, Arshad stated, “The concept back then was to understand the psyche of people and notice the developments that occur when they are made to reside in a house, isolated from the world. No one wanted to cause any trouble. There was no nudity or violence demanded in the clause. But, now the channel wants immediate TRP success, so they are consciously sending nutcases into the house."
It is still to see how Salman Khan will react to Arshad comments indirectly on him and directly towards his show.
