Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Senior vice President Makhdoom Javed Hashmi has said the 18th Amendment bill is not ideal and has many weak points. He was speaking at the annual prize distribution ceremony of Tameer-e-Seerat College held at Mansoora, here on Monday.
Hashmi said the present economic and political crisis was the outcome of corruption and incompetence of the political leadership otherwise there was no dearth of resources in the country. Pakistan could become one of the richest countries of the world.
Speaking on the occasion Secretary General Jamaat-i-Islami, Liaquat Baloch said the ruling class in the country has turned a slave of foreign powers because of its weaknesses and was bent on converting the Islamic state into a secular one. He said that the majority of people were committed to Islam and would never compromise on that.
Baloch said that the civil and military leadership of the country had pushed the country into a political and economic quagmire. The present political leadership had ruined national economy and the rulers were going all over the world begging for dollars to improve the country's infrastructure. He said the country's future was in the youth's hands who should march forward with courage and firm resolve to be able to fulfil their responsibilities in the future.
