Director Rafi Peer Theater Workshop, Faizan Peerzada has demanded of the government of Punjab to give tax exemption to the 8th International Mystic Music Festival starting from April 22 with the support of Royal Norwegian Embassy. He was addressing a press conference along with Director Media Tasneem Perzada here on Monday.
He said they had requested the Superintendent Police for providing security during the 4-day festival which would be attended by around 350 artists from all over Punjab besides artists from Germany, Afghanistan and India.
He said that due to economic crunch no multinational company was willing to sponsor the festival but it was a fact that even in these hard times they were doing good businesses but they were not ready to invest for the promotion of culture in the country. He also said that due to the security reasons most of the countries refused to participate in the festival even some Islamic countries like Syria, Iran and Egypt.
