PPP General Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Ghulam Muhammad on Monday said as many as 50,000 forms under Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) had been distributed among the needy families of the region so far. Talking to newsmen, he said out of those forms, 29,000 had been checked and verified, whereas 21,000 were kept with Nadra for verification and necessary documentation.
He hoped that after verification the families would start getting the benefits soon. He said the Federal government had planned to launch Phase-II of the programme in GB soon, and for this purpose, a survey had been started in all the seven districts of the region.
