National Internship Programme (NIP) has been launched in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and for the purpose, names of 140 young graduates have been forwarded. This was said by Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly, Syed Mehdi Shah, here on Tuesday. Talking to APP, he said Federal Minister for Youth Affairs has sanctioned a grant of worth Rs 100 million for the programme.
The internship would be for the period of one year and Rs 10,000 would be awarded to each internee, besides providing them the opportunity to visit foreign countries, he elaborated. The ministry has already released Rs 10 million and would also establish its office in GB soon, he added. "The programme will be highly beneficial for the students as they will be able to attain substantial experience through it," he concluded.
