Legislators patronising Qabza mafia: Nawaz asks Punjab chief minister to hold investigation
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief, Mohammad Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday asked the Punjab Chief Minister, Mian Shahbaz Sharif to hold investigations against those assembly members who are patronising Qabza mafia and extortionists. He said this while talking to reporters here at Shahdara after condoling with the heirs of three women namely Hamidaan, Uzma and Saima, who were allegedly killed by notorious extortionist Akmal.
The PML-N chief was told on the occasion that the PML-N MNA, Rana Tanveer and Asgher Ali Munda MPA are patronising the criminals involved in this case. On this, Nawaz assured the heirs of victim family that thorough investigations in this regard would be conducted and no one would be spared. He said, "It is basic obligation of the government to ensure protection of life and property of its citizens and police should fulfil responsibilities in this regard."
Nawaz also assured the victim family that the Punjab government would provide financial assistance to the bereaved family and also provide jobs to the deserving persons. He further assured that culprits would be arrested and awarded punishment under the law. Later Nawaz Sharif visited the residence of late Dr Israr Ahmed to condole with his son Akif Saeed over the demise of religious scholar.
He remained there for sometime and offered fateha for the eternal peace of departed soul. Moreover, Nawaz also chaired a meeting of his party leaders to decide the names of heads of different committees. He said on the occasion that the PML-N is taking sincere efforts to make the province a role model for others to follow.
