While Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) has failed to reduce the prolonged load shedding in the city; it has also sacked almost 294 employees of different cadres. The employees ranking officers to general manager were dismissed by the management of KESC with unknown reasons.
The new development, according to sources, has created a complete uncertainty among the employees of KESC, which also feared adding the already worsening power situation in the city. Through a statement, Pakistan People's Party, Karachi Division has also condemned the move terming a violation of basic human rights. it also demanded the immediate restoration of the sacked employees. According to the official sources, the company has taken a disciplinary action against these employees and some of them given punishment for not improving their performance up to the mark.
