The Karachi Port handled 132,107 tonnes of cargo including 91,455 tonnes of import cargo and 40,652 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 91,455 tonnes comprised of 23,775 tonnes of containerised cargo; 305 tonnes of bulk cargo; 7,799 tonnes of canola; 17,500 tonnes of coal and 42,076 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 40,652 tonnes comprised of 19,346 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,557 tonnes of bulk cargo; 5,129 tonnes of cement; 7,520 tonnes of bulk cement and 6,100 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Seven ships namely Al-Mirqab, Seaways Valour, APL Brisbane, Golden Glory, White Sea, Precedence and Ulusoy-8 sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Six vessels viz MSC Oslo, Chemroad Luna, APL Agate, Uni Promote, Chem Bridge and Hanjin Montevideo are currently at the berths. Two ships namely Lady Nisreen and Kota Akbar expected to sail on Wednesday, while five vessels viz Chem Bridge, APL Agate, Ocean Host, Glory Moon and Nadeem are expected to sail on Thursday.
Eight vessels viz No 2 Heung A Pioneer, Chemroad Journey, Bunga Raya Tiga, Manila Express, Amplify, Saeed, Abu Al-Fadel and Bunglar Maya due to arrive on Wednesday, while six ships namely Jbu Onyx, MT Swat, Constancy, Chem Norma, Abtin-1 and Sinotrans Dalian are due to arrive on Thursday.
The total import cargo of 45,437 tonnes includes 25,300 tonnes of furnace oil; 200 tonnes of chemicals 9,212 tonnes of coal and 10,725 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 7,846 tonnes includes 2,250 tonnes of rice; 2,224 tonnes of cement and 3,372 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Three ships namely MT St. Martin, CV Maersk America and MT Quetta sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while another ship namely MV Wales-II is expected to sail on Wednesday afternoon. Six vessels viz CV Maersk America, MV Pacific Express, MV Alexi-1, MV Wales-II, MT Quetta and MV C Young are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, cement, furnace oil and coal respectively during last 24 hours.
Three ships namely ACX Hibiscus, Harissa and Kiani Satu carrying containers, rice and cement respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. Three container vessels viz CV ACX Hibiscus, CV CMA CGM Jamica and CV MSC Roberta are expected to take berths at Container Terminal on Wednesday.
One ship namely MV Olmeca carrying sugar is due to arrive on Wednesday, while three more ships namely CV Pyrenees, CV UASC Shuwaika and MV Jhowhar are due to arrive on Thursday. Five ships namely MSC Jemima, Maersk Georgia, Maersk Naha, Diamond Falcon and BM Defender carrying containers and sugar are also due to arrive.
