A traffic alert for Karachi citizens has been issued as many areas might face a massive traffic jam due to the rally on Wednesday, which is expected to commence from Bilawal House. Alternative routes can be taken by the public to reach their specific destination.
Meanwhile, another public rally will also be held in Hyderabad, where Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will address the crowd. According to media sources, 40,000 seats have been placed at the venue and 5,000 police personnel have been deployed around the area. Bilawal is expected to join the rally in the evening.
Benazir murder case: ATC reserves judgment
On October 18, 2007, at least 180 were killed and 500 injured when a bomb blast took place during a rally led by Benzir at Karsaz. The attack happened when Benazir returned to Pakistan after eight years of exile.
The motorcade carrying her was enroute to Quaid-e-Azam monument to address a public gathering, when two back-to-back suicide explosions took place in front of her truck. She remained safe, however, later on she was killed in a similar incident in Rawalpindi’s Liaquat Bagh on December 27, 2007.
It has been 10 years since Benazir's murder and the incident, but the police and law enforment agencies remain clueless and have yet to solve the case.
