'18th Amendment lays additional responsibility on provinces'

Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Monday said that responsibilities of all the institutions have been clearly envisaged in the 18th Constitutional Amendment, which would help establish better relations among the institutions. He said this while talking to Punjab Governor, Salmaan Taseer, who called on him at his Defence residence today.
Talking to the Governor, the premier maintained that the enactment of 18th Constitutional Amendment lays additional responsibility upon the provinces to resolve the problems confronted to common man. "The government has already given policies in various sectors and hopefully the provincial governments would speed up the implementation of these policies so that common man can benefit," he said.
The Governor Punjab Salmaan Taseer apprised the premier regarding progress of various federal government projects as well as current political and security situation in the province.
