Syed Jamait Ali Shah, Commissioner Indus Waters on Monday met with Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi and discussed issues related to water and implementation of the 1960 Indus Waters Treaty between Pakistan and India.
The Foreign Minister stressed that differences and disputes between Pakistan and India on the Kishenganga project should be addressed in accordance with the dispute-settlement mechanism as provided for in the 1960 Indus Waters Treaty. He underlined that the Treaty had been an effective arrangement between the two countries, adding that it was important that the Treaty was adhered to in letter and spirit.-PR
