Dysfunctional AJK Chief Justice resigns

The dysfunctional Chief Justice of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Supreme Court (SC), Justice Riaz Akhtar Chaudary on Tuesday resigned from his office. When contacted by APP, Justice Riaz confirmed his resignation, and said, "Yes I have resigned from my office."
According to official sources, the senior most judge of the apex court, Justice Khawaja Shahaad Ahmad would take oath of the office as the new CJ of Supreme Court. Over a month long judicial crisis in AJK ended after the dysfunctional CJ of AJK SC resigned from his office, while the acting CJ Justice Manzur-ul-Hassan Gilani also decided to be retired as a judge of the apex court, the sources added.
