Executive engineer Water & Power Department (WPD) Ghulam Haidar said the two powerhouses of 36 megawatts with the cost of five billion rupees would be constructed here. Talking to newsmen here on Thursday, he said 26 megawatts powerhouse would be launched in Shiger Thing, while a 10 megawatts powerhouse would be launched in a village of Subdivision Rondo, Dasu Turmake.
He said Shiger Thing powerhouse was mentioned in national PSDP, which would be completed in four years. "The work on feasibility report of the Shiger Thing project was in progress and after its completion tender would be announced internationally," he said. He further said due to policies of the government, many development projects were in progress in the area.
