A high-level meeting of Sindh Board of Investment (SBI) on Thursday discussed arrangements for holding the first ever "Sindh Energy Conference" in the city on May 29. The meeting, chaired by Advisor to CM on Investment Zubair Motiwala, noted that the board would prepare a comprehensive data prior to the conference about all the ongoing and potential energy projects and future energy requirements for onward submission to the government for effective planning.
It was also decided that the board will also prepare recommendations for the provincial and federal governments for capitalising all the existing indigenous energy resources including coal, wind, gas solar and investment requirements to produce electricity to overcome current energy crisis.
Addressing the meeting, the advisor said that the incentive package for energy sector would be effectively highlighted at the conference to lure investment and overcome the existing energy crisis in the country. He expressed confidence that the conference will attract significant investment in energy sector. The meeting decided to invite all the stakeholders in the province who are interested in energy projects to make the energy conference a success.-PR
