Japan's crude rubber inventories totalled 5,610 tonnes as of April 20, down 3.9 percent from 10 days earlier, data from the Rubber Trade Association of Japan showed on Thursday. Rubber stocks have been steadily declining and approaching the record low of 3,902 tonnes touched on November 10, according to the data, which is taken every 10 days.
On February 28, rubber inventories totalled 8,222 tonnes, the highest level since July 20 when crude rubber stocks totalled 8,275 tonnes.
