Dr Saeedul Majeed, convenor Pakistan Hypertension League, Peshawar said that hypertension is deadliest disease of the world taking the lives of 7 million people annually in the world. Addressing a free medical camp held in connection with World Hyper-Tension Day here, under the auspices of Majeed Clinic, in Sikandarpura, Peshawar city.
He said that about 1.5 billion people are suffering from hypertension, out of whom 12 to 15 million in Pakistan and more than 7 million people died in the world. Dr Majeed further said there was no visible sign for detecting hypertension or blood pressure amongst patients, because of which it's silently penetrating in the human body and eventually cause death.
He said that to lack of initiating precautionary measures the diseases is rapidly increasing around the world. Dr Majeed said that owing to negligence it causes heart diseases, lungs failures, paralysis, eyes sight weaknesses, and diabetes. He stressed the need of proper treatment and precautionary measures for early get rid of the different fatal diseases. He called for balance diet, avoidance of smoking, exercise and proper medical check-ups to get rid of the diseases of hypertension.
