A delegation of American diplomats comprising Economic Officer US Consulate, Jessica Berlow and educationist David A Westbrook called on Consultant to Chief Minister Punjab on Economic Affairs and Vice Chairman/CEO Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) Pir Saad Ahsaniiddin here Monday and discussed various aspects of investment opportunities.
Chief Operating Officer PBIT Fazal Abbas Maken and Director General Public Relations Raoof Hasan were also present on this occasion. Pir Saad informed the delegation that PBIT is playing a proactive and positive role by creating liaison with foreign missions in Pakistan and providing them key information about investment projects in Punjab.
He said Punjab is the most suitable business destination to start the easiest business because of having biggest consumer base in the region. The minister informed the delegation that PBIT is facilitating local as well as foreign investors for their projects in Punjab and sector specific information about investment projects is being provided to initiate fresh ventures in the province.
He said liberal commerce policies have been introduced to promote investment activities and gear up economic growth of Punjab. He told that attractive business opportunities are available for American companies in infrastructure, mines, minerals 1ivestock & dairy development, housing & urban development textile, energy and in health and education sector in Punjab. He asked the delegation to ensure more joint venture between Pakistan and American companies in line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.
