Necessary precautionary arrangements have been finalised to cope with any eventuality during the monsoon season in Sialkot district. Under the arrangements Sialkot district has been divided into 34 sectors and 17 sub-sectors. This was disclosed in a meeting held here on Monday to review the flood arrangements presided by District Co-ordination Officer (DCO) Sialkot Mujahid Sher Dil.
The DHO informed meeting that health department has constituted 116 mobile teams while life saving drugs had also been purchased as well as the kits of anti-rabies and snake biting vaccines had already been prepared. These kits, he said, would be dispatched to basic health units and rural health centres functioning in the district and 102 beds are reserved in government hospitals of the district.
The DCO on this occasion directed the Tehsil Municipal Officers (TMOs) of Sialkot, Daska, Pasrur and Sambrial tehsils of the district that proper functioning of de-watering pumps should be ensured in their respective tehsils to cope with any emergency during monsoon and flood season. The DCO also directed the concerned officers that presence of staff in flood centres should be ensured in all four tehsils of the district.
