The Swiss franc edged up to a fresh high against the euro on Wednesday before easing to trade at around 1.40 per euro, the level that is now seen as the Swiss National Bank's new intervention threshold. At 0715 GMT, the franc was nearly unchanged against the euro compared with the New York close, trading at 1.4003 per euro after touching a new high of around 1.3997.
Against the dollar, the franc was trading 0.1 percent stronger at 1.1484 per dollar, after hitting the lowest level in over a year in the previous session.
