Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 173,915 tonnes of cargo including 131,293 tonnes of import cargo; 42,622 tonnes of export cargo and 6,092 loaded and empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 131,293 tonnes comprised of 44,106 tonnes of containerised cargo; 10,064 tonnes of general cargo; 27,697 tonnes of bulk cargo: 4,804 tonnes of fertiliser; 19,336 tonnes of coal; 3,557 tonnes of urea and 49,426 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 42,622 tonnes comprised of 25,043 tonnes of containerised cargo; 386 tonnes of general cargo; 17,193 tonnes of bulk cargo: 4,764 tonnes of cement; 8,976 tonnes of bulk cement and 3,453 tonnes of rice. Eight ships namely Andre Rickmers, Mariner, Strong, APL Turquoise, Busan Express, Bunga Raya Enam, Utopia Ace and Sima Sahba sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Seven vessels viz Sima Sahba, YM Europe, Hanjin Duesseldrof, Utopia Ace, Baltic Wave, Saigon Express and Ocean Island are currently at the berths. Four ships namely Sea Sky, Lucky Carrier, Kota Akbar and Hanjin Duesseldrof expected to sail on Thursday, while five vessels viz YM Europe, Baltic Wave, Saigon Express, Gulf Sieb and Gulf Eagle are expected to sail on Friday. Four vessels viz MT Swat, Greenwich Bridge, Samin-1 and Hendiah due to arrive on Thursday, while five ships namely Chembulk Network, Elbrus, TS Dubai, Oocl Dalian and Freedom are due to arrive on Friday.

PORT QASIMThe Port Qasim handled 75,382 tonnes of cargo includes 60,422 tonnes of import cargo; 14,960 tonnes of export cargo and 2,435 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours on Thursday.
The total import cargo of 60,422 tonnes includes 33,852 tonnes of furnace oil; 7,775 tonnes of canola seeds and 18,795 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 14,960 tonnes includes 776 tonnes of cement and 14,184 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Four ships namely MT Chem Road Rose, CV Al-Noof, CV ACX Jasmine and MT Fair Spirit sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while another ship namely CV Ville-De-Orion is expected to sail on Thursday. A total number of seven vessels viz CV ACX Jasmine, CV Ville-De-Orion, MV Rose-II, MV Atlantic Action, MV Mandarin Sky, MV Island Green and MT Fair Spirit are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, canola seeds and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Two ships namely Dubai Express and CSAV Jura carrying containers are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of two container vessels viz Dubai Express and CSAV Jura are expected to take berths at Container Terminal on Thursday.
Edible oil vessel Chembulk Jakarta due to arrive on Thursday. Six vessels viz CV Maersk Naha, CV MSC Jemima, MT Oriental Oki, MT Deerah, MT Al-Salam-II and MV BBC Kusan carrying containers, chemicals, diesel oil and project cargo are due to arrive on Friday, while three more ships namely MV Multan, MV Princess-K and MV Diamond Falcon scheduled to load/offload sugar and rice are due to arrive on Saturday. A total number of three ships namely Maersk Montana, Quetta and CS Salina carrying containers, furnace oil and rice are also due to arrive.
