President Asif Ali Zaradri on Friday discussed current political situation and issues pertaining to NRO implementation and 18th Amendment, which has been challenged in the Supreme Court, with cabinet members belonging to Pakistan People's Party (PPP).
The President hosted a dinner for the members of the federal cabinet belonging to PPP at Aiwan-e-Sadr, which was also attended by Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani. The dinner meeting was attended by Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, Makhdoom Amin Fahim, Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan, Pir Aftab Shah Jilani, Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar, Abdul Qayyum Khan Jatoi, Nazar Muhammad Gondal, Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Rehman A. Malik, Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo, Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah, Babar Awan, Humayun Aziz Kurd, Shahbaz Bhatti, Syed Naveed Qamar, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, Syed Hamid Saeed Kazmi, Mir Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani, Najamuddin Khan, Lal Muhammad Khan, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Shahid Hussain Bhutto, Chaudhry Imtiaz Safdar Waraich, Sardar Salim Haider Khan, Ghulam Farid Kathia, Hina Rabbani Khar, Mohammad Tariq Anis, Dr Ayatullah Durrani, Syed Sumsam Ali S. Bukhari, Tasneem Ahmed Qureshi, Nabil Ahmed Gabol, Mohammad Afzal Sindhu, Shagufta Jumani, Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, Sardar Aseff Ahmed Ali, Latif Khosa and Nawabzada Ghazanfar Ali Gul. MNAs Fouzia Wahab, Fouzia Habib and Rukhsana Bangash were also present during the meeting.
Sources said that current political situation, target killing in Karachi, and issues of NRO and 18th Amendment were discussed in the meeting. Government relations with its political allies and forthcoming Budget 2010-11 also came under discussion in the meeting, they added. The President was also briefed about the latest position of Hunza landslide-lake. Earlier, the President and the Prime Minister held a one-on-one meeting. Both the leaders discussed government stance with regard to NRO and 18th Amendment in the Supreme Court.
