Advisor to Prime Minister on Finance, Abdul Hafeez Shaikh stood elected to the Senate unopposed. The Provincial Election Commissioner Sono Khan Baluch, announced that he stood elected to the Senate unopposed after his nomination papers were found valid during scrutiny on Friday and also there was no other candidate in the field.
It may be mentioned here that the senate seat from Sindh had fallen vacant after resignation of former Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin from the office. An official notification about election of Hafeez Shaikh will be issued by the Pakistan Election Commission Islamabad.
