The Board of Administrators of Export Development Fund (EDF) headed by Commerce Minister, Makhdum Amin Fahim has approved 15 projects of Rs 1.174 billion relating to promotion of exports in various sectors.
These projects include establishment of training institutes at Islamabad, Peshawar, Multan, Faisalabad and Quetta, strengthening and upgradation of SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry's headquarter at Islamabad costing Rs 240.5 million, upgradation of leather products Development Institute Sialkot at a cost of 33.8 million, Rs 10.8 million grant to Footwear Training Institute Charsaddah, establishment of Southern Punjab Women Chamber of Commerce and Industries building at Multan and establishment of Business and Trade Center at Sialkot at a cost of Rs 30 million.
The 56th meeting of the Board of Administrators of EDF was attended by Senator Ilyas Bilour, Secretary Commerce Zafar Mahmood, Chief Executive Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), Officials of the Ministry, representatives of Ministry of Textile Industry, State Bank of Pakistan, President Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and Chairmen of prominent chambers and trade associations.-PR
