Khairpur Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sindh Indigenous and Traditional Craft Company (SITCO) Abdul Hameed Akhund has said efforts are being made to boost performance of different small indigenous industries of the province. He said handicrafts of Sindh are most popular at world level, which depict the culture of Sindh. This he stated this while presiding over a meeting regarding promotion of in-house handicraft industries, at DCO Darbar Hall Khairpur.
Akhund said different training programmes are being organised to enhance the skills of women regarding manufacturing of different handicrafts in their homes. He further said Smeda and Community Development Department is helping make such training possible, adding that handsome stipend will be given to the trainers during the training. EDO CDD Faisal Khokhar, EDO IT Syed Sabir Ali Shah, DO Social Welfare Hafeezullah Shaikh, Smeda representative and a good number of in-house women handicraft workers attended the meeting.
